In-Person Lecture at the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum

John Mills will be doin an in-person lecture on June 15th, 2023 at 6pm EDT. The event will be hosted by The Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum in Wethersfield, CT.

For nearly 2 years, Mr. Mills has been researching the life of Prince Mortimer, an enslaved individual from Middletown, CT. This event will provide an update on that work, as well as provide information on additional work being done around Connecticut.

Other work to be discussed is the life and times of Nicholas Monroe, a Civil War veteran buried in the Wethersfield prison cemetery, as well as work being done to decolonize museums.

A Wine and Cheese Reception will occur from 6pm - 6:30pm, with the lecture occurring from 6:30pm - 7:30pm.
